Interdisciplinary Plan Proposal

There are global nursing challenges, especially with the number of patients admitted to hospitals increasing annually, thus contributing to burnout among nursing officers, shortages of staff, and underpayment due to competitive resource requirements. These factors greatly affect nurse retention, especially in institutions with few resources. The problem does not only affect nurses, but equally, it affects the level of care given to patients. This plan will help some hospitals realign their strategies, especially in providing progressive implementation steps by hospital management. The recommended application of this proposal would be in a collaborative approach to management, particularly in the hospital’s staffing and better remuneration of the nurses to help them focus on their practice.

Objectives

The first objective is to enlighten staff members by offering education to all nurse managers and senior administrators on the significance of transformational leadership in a hospital setup. The education of top hospital managers will also highlight the benefit of an inclusive decision-making process, especially on medical processes, it implies that junior nurses can voice their concerns on particular issues affecting the operations and running of the hospital.

The second objective is to provide a well-framed plan to increase nurse remuneration and lower rations between patients and nurses. Implementing this proposal would improve the hospital’s reputation among the public and earn approvals from many organizations. A good hospital reputation depends on the quality and safety of patient care, staff remuneration, and local community relations (Wensing & Grol, 2020). Thus, a hospital benefits from good public opinion because it will receive more referrals and funding from government and donor organizations.

Questions and Predictions

  • How will the plan enable strategic technological innovation and healthcare delivery?

Technological innovation is a key pillar in healthcare development, given that more people are being treated and diagnosed remotely without having to be in hospitals. This plan will enhance already developed technology unto how it can be implemented to reach more people and ensure equitable healthcare. It will ease the burden of overload per nurse, thus solving the problems highlighted in Metropolitan hospital.

  • How does the integration of technology enhance collaboration in hospital management?

Collaboration is one of the pillars of safeguarding patient welfare through good healthcare practices. It is successful in various hospitals and institutions to implement better working environments among nurses and other professionals. This plan intends to highlight some of the collaboration steps taken by hospital management, especially in addressing human resources.

  • How will the plan be implemented?

The plan is vital for the progressive development of the hospital processes and ensuring top-quality healthcare provision. Implementing this project will guarantee good service and deliver an improved association with the public in the promotion of the hospital.

Change Theories and Leadership Strategies

The main change theory identified is transformational leadership; these changes will realign the hospital’s leadership based on steps put in place by transformational theory. The plan will contain detailed changes that would transform the health sector, thus enhancing improved patient care. One of the key changes that the process will initiate involves technological changes. Technology is the future of any industry. Ignoring its influence in an organization may jeopardize competitive advantage. Implementation of the plan will be anchored on Kurt Lewin’s freeze, change, and unfreeze theory (Hussain et al., 2018). The simplistic nature of this theory makes it very easy to implement any progressive theory, especially in highlighting the benefits it brings to the organization.

In realization of the proposed changes as per the plan, it is vital to explore effective leadership as a theory by which institutional transformation is achievable. The transformational leaders enable progressive considerations when executing changes (McGowan & Reid, 2018). The team leaders for the interdisciplinary exhibit teamwork, good communication skills, vision, dependability, and ethical behavior in guiding members to achieve a shared goal. Collaboration remains critical in implementing the plan because leaders must collaborate and work together for effective leadership.

The whole project implementation plan aligns with teamwork and guarantees the effective realization of organizational goals as a group. Collaboration ensures achievement of all goals through the synchronization of work for effective delivery. Technology plays a big role in ensuring teamwork because it guarantees the eventual completion of projects within acceptable timelines. Both collaboration and communication would deliver teamwork if effectively implemented by a transformational leader. This healthcare plan is vital for transforming hospitals for effective service delivery and patient care.

Team Collaboration Strategies

Collaboration is a key trait of transformational leadership. Implementation of this proposal plan requires collaboration from various individuals in the health facility. The significance of collaborative efforts is stressed by evidence-based, patient-centered strategies, which form part of the key components of interdisciplinary plans. Thus, it is important to consider various collaborative strategies, which would be useful in the realization of the objectives of the plan (Rosenberg, 2019). The first collaborative strategy is the inclusion of technology in addressing some of the challenges realized in the health sector.

Team building and teamwork is a collaborative strategy used in various organizations to ensure collaboration among workers. This strategy will guarantee effective communication and collaboration among workers at the hospital. However, for effective implementation of this strategy, proper leadership ensure or guarantee the plan’s implementation. The workers must equally be motivated to deliver to the best of their abilities.

Required Organization Resources

There is a need to put in place a comprehensive resource allocation strategy that will eventually guarantee the effective implementation of this proposal plan. Three main resources must be available for the effective implementation of the plan, human resources, finance, and time. This plan will attract a budget of $5000, which will be used to hire experts, training, and team building exercises.
